Kerala has one of the highest literacy rates in India and some of the most ambitious students in the country. Yet the edtech market here has turned that ambition into a business model — selling students their own syllabus back to them, packaging publicly available knowledge behind paywalls, and manufacturing anxiety around exam season to extract money from families that can barely afford it.
FYWiki is built against that. Not a product. A direct challenge to the system that has turned Kerala's most ambitious students into a revenue stream.
Started by students who were tired of asking "anyone have the notes?" in seventeen different group chats.
What FYWiki is
The platform is infrastructure. The real asset is the community built around it.
Free study resources — Notes, PYQs, model papers, micro notes — verified, community-built, organised by course, semester, subject, and college. Always free.
Decentralised courses — Courses that sit behind ₹10,000 paywalls, rebuilt from publicly available material — open textbooks, internet archives, research papers — structured and given away for free.
AI-powered curriculum — AI used not to replace learning but to do the research, aggregation, and curriculum design work. The output is Harvard-quality. The cost is zero.
Community intelligence — Exam radar, semester pulse, gap finder — tools built on collective student knowledge that no paid platform can replicate, because they do not have the community to power them.
An educated community — Students educated not just in their syllabus but in how the system around them works — how edtech companies manufacture dependency, how to learn without being sold to.
What we stand for
Five things we won't compromise on, no matter how big this gets.
Never charge for access to knowledge — notes, PYQs, study materials, courses — free, always
Never take investor money that demands returns — grants, donations, earned revenue only
Never sell student data — that trust is not a revenue stream
Never let any one person own FYWiki — this belongs to the community — governance stays distributed
Never forget who this is for — does this serve the student who cannot afford the alternative?
No subscription. No ads. No data selling. Just a clean, organized, verified library of study material — and if you have good notes, share them. The more people contribute, the better it gets for everyone.
Where this goes
FYUGP notes for Calicut University — Build the community. Earn trust. Prove that free and high-quality are not contradictions.
Full resource hub for all Kerala undergraduate courses — Every FYUGP course, every semester, every college. The most comprehensive free study resource in Kerala.
Free course platform with AI-generated curriculum — Courses that compete with ₹15,000 paid programmes, built from public knowledge, free forever. Certification at ₹299.
Education-to-employment pipeline — Study free. Get certified cheap. Get hired through the network. Give back to the next batch. The loop running at scale.
A generation of educated, awake Kerala students — Students who understand how the system works, who learned without being sold to, and who built something together that nobody can take from them.
And somewhere along the way, the edtech companies selling ₹30 PDFs and ₹15,000 anxiety courses run out of customers.
How it works
From a student's notebook to your screen —
every step reviewed
A topper or senior shares their notes — not just to help one junior, but to prove free knowledge can outcompete a paywall. Takes two minutes.
A moderator checks quality, accuracy, and relevance before anything goes live. Spam and plagiarism get rejected immediately.
Once approved, the resource goes live. Any registered student downloads it free — no paywall, no expiry.
